If you are like us, you may have multiple Twitter accounts. Typically when you try to add a new account using your regular email, you will get a message saying that email has already been used for another account. This can drive you nuts, but there is actually a way around it!
From what we have seen, this only works with a Gmail account or a Google Apps email account. When going into Twitter to set up a new account as a new user, enter your email and simply add a period (.) anywhere in the first part of the email address. For example, if your email address is firstname.lastname@example.org enter email@example.com. Because Gmail ignores the period you will get your confirmation email sent right to your inbox. Sounds crazy, but it works!
Hope this helps knock out some of the frustrations and makes your Twitter life simpler!
